Chief's Message

As we can all see by the brown grass and the fires on the news we are now well into fire season in California.  Extra awareness for possible fires, and extreme care when performing any task that that could cause an ignition are call called for.  Please do not cut grass, weed-whack, or use power tools near vegetation when it is hot, dry, or windy.  Burn piles are banned.

After last October's firestorm, the topic of how citizens are informed of emergencies has been on everyone's mind.  Sonoma County has been working to improve its capabilities in this area.  The most important thing community members can do to stay informed is to make sure they are registered accurately with every appropriate notification mechanism.
