Rescue helicopters and air ambulances are essential resources in our District. Patient transports by ground ambulance take about two hours, which may be far too long for a critical patient. Our law enforcement partners Sonoma County Sheriff and CHP also provide search and rescue capabilities and often help local agencies with lifting patients out of inaccessible areas. We are able to use many LZ’s (landing zones), and some of them are very photogenic!
